Opening of the Moonambel Pavilion

The Official Opening of the Moonambel Pavilion took place on 31 July 2009. This initiative was made possible by the hard work (and cash) from the Moonambel Community and substantial financial input from the Pyrenees Shire, the Victorian and Federal Governments. The Hon Joe Helper formally opened the Pavilion ..... (with some assistance from our oldest resident, Keith Farnsworth!!) view some of the images from this event here.

2009 Easter Arts Festival

The third Moonambel Easter Arts Festival was launched at Tandamuki on Good Friday, 10 April 2009. The festival was sponsored by the Pyrenees Shire and Pyrenees Newspapers with a $500 first prize for this year's winner. Photos can be found in the picture Gallery pages.

On Easter Saturday evening, a comical play "Foules Gold", followed by an Evening of Dancing was a sellout and a fantastic night of fun.

This truly was the highlight of the Easter in Moonambel and shows what talent and enthusiasm exists in our community. View some of the images from the 2009 event on the Foule's Gold pages.

World's Longest Lunch 2009

This fantastic event was held on Friday 13th March, 2009 as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. After 5 very successful years at Dalwinnie the event moved to Taltarni in 2009.

Once again the community volunteers of MEI managed a fantastic event with the wonderful support of sponsors, headed by Taltarni Vineyards, the Moonambel Hotel and The Benchmarque Group.

A key iniative this year was a fundraising auction for the Victorian Bushfire victims which raised over $16,000.
